LWE-Aspirational Districts

Transforming Aspirational District Program (TADP) is the flagship program of Government of India,
anchored by NITI Aayog focused on India’s 112 most backyard districts, the progress in the Districts across
the change domains is tracked through a dedicated portal www.championsofchange.gov.in Ministry of
Home Affairs is responsible to program implementation in 35 Left Wing Extremists (LWE)-Aspirational
Districts; Tata Trusts and TRIF are supporting the Ministry with program implementation including
MInistry’s Special Central Assistance for LWE Districts by establishing a District TADP Resource Cell with
the District Administration, State Resource Cell working closely with Home Department & Planning
Department and National LWE Resource Cell in the Ministry.

The engagement has shown excellent progress across multiple change dimensions tracked by NITI
Aayog, the table below captures overall change in performance of LWE Districts:

31 of these districts have been rewarded with an additional allocation of 2100 million under the SDG-JICA
funding by NITI Aayog, further the Program team has supported drafting relevant proposals for the district
and coordinating with the CPSEs in raising resources and implementing innovative projects. Overall CPSEs
have sanctioned 3651.8 million for the activities in these Districts.
