Planning Cell, MGNREGS,
Government of Jharkhand
The Mahatma Gandhi National
Rural Employment Guarantee
Act (MGNREGS) is a program
that provides rural wage
employment in India. In the
state of Jharkhand, they have
taken several initiatives with
technical support from the
Planning Cell to create durable
assets by utilizing labor budget
for MGNREGS.
The Planning Cell works closely
with the Department of Rural
Development, Government of
Jharkhand in design
development and
implementation. They have
conceptualised and grounded
several landmark initiatives
such as creating fruit orchards,
nurseries, ponds, animal sheds,
wells, and more by dovetailing
state schemes with MGNREGS.
Here are some highlights of
their achievements:
• An investment of INR 1000 Cr
+ has been made in
MGNREGS in the last three
years.

and their participation is
