TRIF Youth Initiatives

The goal of this intervention is to expand viable economic opportunities for youths in rural India by leveraging digital technologies so that they can have sustainable livelihoods in their communities. The objective has two-fold:
Empower women community career counsellors who will bridge the digital divide and bring ICT for access to rural young people
Facilitate the creation of income generating opportunities locally (rural entrepreneurship)
Improve access to wide range of available skilling and work opportunities locally and country wide Comprehensive Solution Approach:
To achieve the above said objectives and reach the project’s goal, TRI has created a Digital Gateway, which will act as “One Stop Shop” for digital solutions. The Digital Gateway will leverage and integrate existing solutions and custom- built features, and build new functionalities where needed, to address gaps. It will be designed for easy scale up and replicability. It will have a “human-tech” approach to ensure the effective deployment and mass adoption of the Digital Gateway. An important aspect of this approach is developing points of access to the Digital Gateway, which will include youth hubs and women community career counsellors, and building the capacity of youth to access and maximize Digital gateway offerings. The proposed solution consists of:
  • A digital platform to help the rural youths to make an informed career choice
  • Youth hubs and community career counsellors to support rural youth to access knowledge and linkages to income generation opportunities Skills, Employment and Enterprise Solution
