Co-Lead, Transforming Rural India Foundation (TRIF)

Anirban Ghose is the Co-Founder of Transforming Rural India Foundation (TRIF). Since 1995, he has worked actively at the grassroots level and understands the range of challenges that India’s rural poor face. He leads the integration of all activities across the organization, involving planning and implementation of programs, monitoring progress, setting systems, design of strategies, staff development and managing key grants.

Anirban is recognized for his role in expanding comprehensive engagement with women collectives beyond financial services and livelihoods and as a pioneer of automated book-keeping systems in women’s self-help groups. He is known for his expertise in community-managed irrigation, natural resource-based livelihoods and numerous technologies for development initiatives to enable the poor to access opportunities to lead better lives. Before setting up TRIF, he was on the leadership team at India’s leading non-profit PRADAN, working on rural transformation.
